I am thinking about what type of job I'll do next. I was at a friends house and met someone who was in town for a wedding. He was from Atlanta. When I asked him what he did he said "I work for Delta"
My friend who was sitting across from him said "Like baggage handler?" I thought this was kind of rude and I'm not sure if the comment might have been based on the color of his skin. Then I found out that my friend gave the guy a ride home last night so they must have talked about his job during the ride. He wasn't a racist.
The wedding guest actually was sort of a baggage handler but he shipped animals. I never even thought about this job existing. I wanted to know what type of animals are flying around in jet airliners. Apparently there is a woman who travels with her pair of cheetahs and often passes through Atlanta. I think I need a job that pays a lot!

Leviathan Part 2
Yesterday was free day at most museums in SF. I decided to visit the Conservatory of
Flowers. I was enjoying the beauty of the water lilly and the reflection of the glass windows.
Suddenly a hand comes out of nowhere with a GoPro Camera and plunges into the water like its the Flying Sub from Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea. It really annoyed me even more than the coins in the water next to the sign that says "Don't throw coins in the water"

Take a Picture
Last month my brother passed away after fighting cancer for two years. As I sifted through photos for the memorial I found pictures of myself that my brother had taken of me.
The moment I looked at those pictures my brothers spirit was suddenly right there with me. I envisioned him with his camera snapping away.
Make sure people who you love take your picture because when you see the photo , you'll see them too.

New Kids on the Block
My shift at the theatre usually starts between 5 and 5:30 but yesterday I had an unusual 6:15 start.
I had a lot of time to kill so I went to get something to eat. I was going to get Chinese food but somehow I knew it would probably not be that good and overpriced. I decided to go to Tartine. When I got there the line was not that long. I made a trip to the restroom where I was waiting for a while. It started to get annoying then all of the sudden I heard the faucet turn on then the door opened and out came a young girl about 10 years old. She was reading a big thick book as she walked out of the bathroom. It must have been a good book.
I got my macaroon and croissant and walked back to the theatre. I still had more time to kill so I went to the "parklet" near the theatre. I chose a seat where I hadn't seen any naked guys sitting and watched the F street cars make their way down Market Street for the evening commute.
In front of me was a pixie twirling a hula hoop. She soon tired and retired the hoop against a concrete planter which was right next to me. " Hi I'm Tinker." she said.
"I'm Tailor" I replied. She didn't get the joke.
Then a group of young cute girls who had been shopping sat down at the table near me. One of them had a large bag of clothing which she just bought. She started to take the stuff out of the bag to show her friends. A hat, and then a t-shirt with the MC5 band photo and logo. As she took it out she said to her friends "I'm not sure who they are but I'm going to look it up" I el oh elled.

The Difficulty of Eating Ice Cream
It was my parents 56th wedding anniversary. My aunt planned a small dinner at a restaurant and invited just a few of their friends. On one side of the long table were my mom's bridge partners and on the other side were my dad's farming friends. I was sitting right in the middle next to my uncle.
During the course of the evening the subject of the internment camps came up. My dad's friend Ray was transferred from Rower, Arkansas to Crystal City, Texas. Crystal City had German and Italian American internees and they also had ice cream and a beer garden!
"Oh I wanted ice cream!" said my mom who was interned in Poston, Arizona.
When dessert was brought to the table, the servers failed to bring spoons so we all ate our ice cream with forks. I washed it down with the remains of my Stella.

Chocolate is Saltier by the Sea
I went to see the latest blockbuster "Pacific Rim" at the theatre near my house. They haven't converted to digital and still show 35mm. When I walked in, a friend who works there asked me if I was an expert at filing aperture plates. I said I've done it but I'm not an expert. My friend told me the picture had a shadow in the lower right corner.
I told him I'd check it after the movie. I watched the movie. I saw the shadow. The movie started good and then it just went on too long. 140 minutes later I went up to the booth, fiddled around with a screwdriver and a file and most of the shadow was gone. My friend looked really happy and I told him he could do the rest.
"How am I going to pay you? I know!" he said to himself. Then he got a pleased look in his eye and went downstairs.
I was thinking he'd give me a bunch of passes because I know he wasn't going to give me a twenty.
I went downstairs and as I passed by the concession stand my friend gave me a salted caramel bar made by some guy from Santa Cruz. Bartering is good.

Sa weeeeet!
At my work, when its someone's last day, the management goes to Safeway and buys a cake for the staff member.
The theatre closed for remodeling this week so everyone was laid off and that meant everyone would be getting cake! It started with a German chocolate cake that one employee wanted on his last day. Another employee who also shared the same last day hates coconut and was a little peeved that he couldn't eat any of it.
The next day someone wanted a pie. The Safeway pies didn't look all that great according to the manager who bought two bags of Chips Ahoy. Regular and Reeses peanut butter cup flavor. I tried both cookies and thought the Reeses was terrible. Too soft.
On my last day I was thinking it might be nice if we just had a watermelon. People seemed to like that idea but instead, the manager bought mini chocolate cupcakes and an Oreo ice cream cake. I had a cupcake but skipped the frozen Oreo.
As I was walking through the lobby I saw "Candyman" who was taking advantage of the last day at the theatre by seeing two movies. He brought his usual old ass chocolate but this time he also brought cookies tied with a ribbon that suggested Christmas. Since its almost the 4th of July I didn't eat one.
