Good Dialogue
Last night I was reading a book on Charlie Chaplin. He had a Japanese chauffeur named Toraichi Kono who drove him for 18 years and a Chinese majordomo who also projected films in his screening room. Once when he ran "Un chien andalou" Chaplin heard a loud thud and it was the projectionist who fainted during the first few minutes of the film.
A few minutes are usually about all I ever watch when I run a film. I saw the last scene of "The Subject was Roses" based on the Pulitzer prize winning play by Frank Gilroy. I was floored by the dialogue in the last scene.
A family (Patricia Neal, Martin Sheen and Jack Albertson) are sitting at a kitchen table.
Jack Albertson looks at his family and says "I don't know why we buy this expensive coffee. It's so strong and it gets cold so fast"
